THIS CONTEST ENDED 5/11/12. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO ENTERED.

What fun we've had during the past three weeks of our Everything Old is New Again series, sponsored by Fabric.com! We brought back some of the old standards of the fabric world: candy colored seersucker, delicate eyelet, rich linen, traditional toile, flirty little floral prints, and crisp white cottons. By unleashing our imaginations on these "forgotten fabrics," we applied their old-fashioned goodness in new ways in eight great projects, and provided you with some tired-and-true sewing techniques as well, such as shirring, fagoting and hemstitching. To help celebrate all these terrific and trendy ways to use classic fabrics, Fabric.com has provided us with a $200 gift certificate. That's right: TWO Hundred Dollars!

One lucky Sew4Home fan will be going on a dream shopping spree. To sweeten the deal even more, we're adding a S4H Bonus Bundle: several generous ½ - 1 yard cuts of Clover Mini Iron II, which we reviewed during the series. For a chance to win, simply take a few minutes to browse the Fabric.com site, then leave us a short comment about your favorite "forgotten fabric" and what you would make from it.

We encourage you to give these great classic fabrics a try. Fabric.com has a wonderful selection of all the options we used throughout the series... as well as many, many... many more. Always at great discount prices and always with free shipping on orders of $35 and more.

Take a look back at these 11 projects, tips, and product reviews:

I'm really diggin' the Michael Miller fabrics (especially the Flora and Fauna, the interlocking knits collections). I've started making fun aprons as a 'side hustle' if you will, and these fabrics would be stellar to work with! smilies/smiley.gif

I've shopped on Fabric.com a few times! I love their selection of fabrics, especially the quilting fabrics from Michael Miller and Amy Butler. They make great dresses and skirts for little girls. I also like to accent those dresses and skirts with eyelet fabrics, and Fabric.com has a great selection of them, too!

I just made my boys neckties using an adorable seersucker fabric. I just found P Kaufman indoor/outdoor Hugo Stripe Poolside fabric that would be great to make new pillows for the kitchen banquette.

I love the seersuckers in ginghams as well as stripes. So summer! The peacock toile would be great fun to use, but there are so many fantastic fabrics, it's hard to decide what I would want first, second, third......

I LOVE the seersucker. Honestly though, I love almost everything at fabric.com. I make rag dolls and the fabrics are so fun to imagine what kind of dollies I can make with them. The seersucker would be awesome for not only a couple of doll outfits, but a nice summer top for me!

Forgotten fabrics I love and remember well ... Seersucker and dotted swiss! I remember ALWAYS having seersucker sundresses and "rompers" (I'm really showing my age here!) and my little brother had the cutest little boys suit for church, in blue striped seersucker.
I think EVERY Easter dress I ever wore had dotted swiss on it, somewhere! I also remember having white dotted swiss curtains in my bedroom.

I have visited Fabric.com several times. The vintage series made me look at the voile and I was very attracted to the Sea Green Peacock Feathers. A shirred section of this material would be very attractive. Of course, the faux leather and faux fur at Fabric.com is also tempting.

Light blue, yellow, pink or hot pink cotton gingham checked fabric. I wore my mom's lightweight sleeveless pink gingham cotton blouse to the county fair the summer I turned fourteen. I still recall the taste of the cotton candy, which was the same pink as the blouse, and winning six goldfish at the ping-pong ball toss booth ... which did not make my mom very happy because we didn't have a fishbowl to put them in. smilies/smiley.gif

The woven plaids brought back so many memories. We lived in a small country town with very little access to nice fabrics. The local "store" would get in a shipment of Dan River plaids and stripes bundled in 3-yard packs. The owner would call Mother and she would hurry down to have first pick of the bundles. She would often buy 2 matching bundles so that she would have enough to make outfits for my three younger sisters. She worked miracles in stretching those fabrics and often claimed that she was at her best when there were only tiny slivers (chicken feed) of fabric left from her projects. It wasn't the first day of school if I didn't have a new plaid dress - I even remember a red plaid jumper when I began my Freshman year. I think I will make myself a red plaid blouse - a jumper would be a little much for this old grandma.

My previous comment was not logged in so I posted again so I have a chance in the generous prize drawing ...

I have a notions stash but not a fabric stash yet. Winning this could accomplish that. It would take a long time to decide what to purchase to begin building my fabric stash. Fabric.com is a very well designed website.

Since I like bright red poppies, to begin I might purchase "Masquerade V Poppies" to make napkins to match some red poppy napkin rings I purchased just last week.

My fingers are crossed in anticipation.
