THIS CONTEST ENDED 5/11/12. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO ENTERED.

What fun we've had during the past three weeks of our Everything Old is New Again series, sponsored by Fabric.com! We brought back some of the old standards of the fabric world: candy colored seersucker, delicate eyelet, rich linen, traditional toile, flirty little floral prints, and crisp white cottons. By unleashing our imaginations on these "forgotten fabrics," we applied their old-fashioned goodness in new ways in eight great projects, and provided you with some tired-and-true sewing techniques as well, such as shirring, fagoting and hemstitching. To help celebrate all these terrific and trendy ways to use classic fabrics, Fabric.com has provided us with a $200 gift certificate. That's right: TWO Hundred Dollars!

One lucky Sew4Home fan will be going on a dream shopping spree. To sweeten the deal even more, we're adding a S4H Bonus Bundle: several generous ½ - 1 yard cuts of Clover Mini Iron II, which we reviewed during the series. For a chance to win, simply take a few minutes to browse the Fabric.com site, then leave us a short comment about your favorite "forgotten fabric" and what you would make from it.

We encourage you to give these great classic fabrics a try. Fabric.com has a wonderful selection of all the options we used throughout the series... as well as many, many... many more. Always at great discount prices and always with free shipping on orders of $35 and more.

Take a look back at these 11 projects, tips, and product reviews:

I have a wonderful baby print fabric that I bought years ago to make a baby quilt from. Now that my DIL is pregnant, I can finally use the fabrics to make quilts, a "pea-in-a pod" and several other items! Thanks for the articles! It has made me go back and look at my "forgotten" fabrics!

I have been sewing since my Grandma taught me to hand sew when I was 9 yrs old. But it wasn't until I was in high school that my projects advanced to making clothing for myself. When I was a junior (a long time ago), I did not want to wear my older sister's hand me down prom dress and my parents were not willing to buy another dress when there was a perfectly good (but ugly) one hanging in the closet. I decided I would make myself a dress so when I when looking around at Fabric.com, I looked for the dotted swiss I used as the overskirt on my dress. They carry this wonderful, girly fabric. Now to think of what I can make one of my granddaughters in this fabric that is a huge memory from my past - just thinking about that dress makes me feel 15 again. Thanks for this contest.

Ok... this would be hard to narrow down. I love that not only does Fabric.com sell fabric, but they also have a big collection of notions. If I got a $200 shopping spree I have to say that I would get myself a couple of new rotary blades and some pins (which I badly need). Then, I think I would buy the pattern for making robes (Kwik Sew Learn to Sew Robe Pattern) and make myself something (in Timeless Treasures Tailor Flannel Tiny Houndstooth Pearl). My "to sew" list is always full of projects for others and I love that! But it is nice to do something for yourself once in a while! With the leftovers I would try to fund the projects on my "to sew" list that are a bit more expensive! Ha! Sorry for such a long comment! This would be my plan though!!

Fabric.com is one of my favorite sites for shopping. I love the "Lemon Grove" collection and plan to make the machine cover that you did in the Moda Half Moon series.

I think 100% cotton batiste, the type you used to see babies' dresses made of, would make a beautiful summer top.

I love toile for home decorating, pillows, table runners. I also love retro quilting fabrics used in a modern quilting project. Gives the best of both worlds. Both fabric.com and S4H are favorite sites of mine, full of ideas, techniques and inspiration!

I know it's a newer fabric, but I had heard about Moda's Berenstein Bears fabric a while back and promised to get myself some for a quilt I am making for my daughter. I had completely forgotton about it until I started shopping around on fabric.com. I would love to purchase that plus some Soy Soft - I have been wanting to try that out as well! Thanks Fabric.com and Sew4home.com!

Michael Miller's Lil' Cowgirl reminds me of the little short sets my Granny stitched for me & my sisters in the 60's. How darling would it be to stitch up a complete nursery in that?

Decisions...decisions! There is just too much from which to choose. I found a beautiful Chinese silk brocade that would make lovely, elegant bed jackets or a robe for my 90 year old mother for Mother's Day. And I have my eye on some eyelet fabric that would make great dresses for dolls and floppy rabbits.

Well at first I thought 'how in the world am I going to be able to choose'? To narrow it down I decided to think about what fabric I'd like to use in my next project, a weekend bag for my monther. When I stumbled upon Amy Butler Midwest Modern Optic Blossom Linen, I knew that I found the one!! I can't wait to get started. THANK YOU smilies/smiley.gif

I have in mind to make a summer blouse out of white "dotted swiss" fabric - and they have it! I had a favorite dress made with that material years ago, and I've been meaning to get back into some detailed garment sewing. This sheer fabric will mean I have to brush up on my french seams and all those other finishing techniques needed! I have one quilt to finish up and then I can go ahead and start another project. Thanks to sew4home and fabric.com for another great give-away!

A forgotten fabric I found on fabric.com was the extra wide fabric for quilt backing, they even had flannel! I can not find that at my local quiilt store! That would be so soft and snuggly for some of the quilt tops I am currently making. They also had Libery of London fabric which I have heard a LOT about on blogs over the last couole of year and would Love the opportunity to try and sew a dress with!

I LOVE fabric.com and am a frequent shopper there. They have great deals and the free shipping is a huge bonus. I rediscovered the Michael Miller Ta Dot collection. There are so many color options that I could get every color and not get tired of them. I have tons of baby gifts to make (bibs, burp cloths, blankies, etc) so these would come in really handy...especially because they have several gender neutral colors in that line and a lot of my friends are waiting to find out the gender.
