THIS CONTEST ENDED 5/11/12. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO ENTERED.

What fun we've had during the past three weeks of our Everything Old is New Again series, sponsored by Fabric.com! We brought back some of the old standards of the fabric world: candy colored seersucker, delicate eyelet, rich linen, traditional toile, flirty little floral prints, and crisp white cottons. By unleashing our imaginations on these "forgotten fabrics," we applied their old-fashioned goodness in new ways in eight great projects, and provided you with some tired-and-true sewing techniques as well, such as shirring, fagoting and hemstitching. To help celebrate all these terrific and trendy ways to use classic fabrics, Fabric.com has provided us with a $200 gift certificate. That's right: TWO Hundred Dollars!

One lucky Sew4Home fan will be going on a dream shopping spree. To sweeten the deal even more, we're adding a S4H Bonus Bundle: several generous ½ - 1 yard cuts of Clover Mini Iron II, which we reviewed during the series. For a chance to win, simply take a few minutes to browse the Fabric.com site, then leave us a short comment about your favorite "forgotten fabric" and what you would make from it.

We encourage you to give these great classic fabrics a try. Fabric.com has a wonderful selection of all the options we used throughout the series... as well as many, many... many more. Always at great discount prices and always with free shipping on orders of $35 and more.

Take a look back at these 11 projects, tips, and product reviews:

Thanks for the great ideas and giveaway! I really like the Moda California Girl line of fabric - especially the blueberry twigs that you used for the apron. In fact, I could use a new apron - my old one is about worn out.

I have been wanting to make something in seersucker or gingham for my girls. cotton pjs for my son? A "forgotten" fabric I found on fabric.com was cotton twill. I have been using quilting cotton for everything lately ( I am a sucker for Riley Blake prints for the kids)! DO knits exist anymore? I would love to get some again.

I would love to make precious little seersucker rompers for my niece with my new-to-me Janome machine. I just bought a used MC9700 yesterday and I'm so inspired by all the fabulous projects on your site! Here in the deep south, seersucker is a timeless classic and summer baby rompers would be a perfect project smilies/smiley.gif

I would buy lots of fabric for my new son. He is using most of his brother's hand me downs, so I would sew him something of his very own. Dr. Suess prints are always good, but some of new modern prints with trucks and other boy stuff are so cute!

I haven't thought of seersucker for years. My mother made me a pink seersucker dress when I was a little girl. Seersucker is such a great summer fabric, and the bedroom set is a great idea!

I loved the heirloom stitching tutorial/article from the series. I never thought about using my double needle with the decorative stitches on my machine! I am really excited about the idea of trying that, so I think I'd buy some of the great linens on fabric.com and do a placement or pillow project to try that.

Eyelet!! Especially for spring/summer - I love the light, pretty, airy feel of it for skirts, blouses, pillows...
MWag said:
Love Fabric.com, they are my supplier of all of my quilting cotton currently. Browsing the apparel fabric, I found many different eyelet fabrics. It reminds me of a dress my mom made for me when I was five. It was my Cinderella dress as I called it with a pink ribbon around my waist.

I was just on Fabrics.com looking at their vinyl as I MUST now make a bag, or two as depicted in your tutorial. The black & white will be my practice bag which I'll slow very slowly, then I am branching out to - and this is where it gets tough, polka dots (?), wild red flower prints (?), hmmm. If I won, I could get them all smilies/wink.gif.

I love fabric. I love to look at it and touch it which is the only problem I have with online fabric shopping. When I am in a fabric shop, I am constantly touching the fabric. I want to get into diaper making for the new babies coming into the family so I would really like to get the diaper fabrics and gorgeous designs for the covers.

I just delivered a beautiful baby boy 6 days ago on the 13th of April and we didn't know "what" he was going to be until he got here! So I've got all sorts of boy-centric projects I've been itching to get started on. The first one will be a swaddle minky with the Mar Bella fabric in blue and brown. I love the quality of that minky and have already purchased from fabric.com many times in the past. Thanks!
