THIS CONTEST ENDED 5/11/12. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO ENTERED.

What fun we've had during the past three weeks of our Everything Old is New Again series, sponsored by Fabric.com! We brought back some of the old standards of the fabric world: candy colored seersucker, delicate eyelet, rich linen, traditional toile, flirty little floral prints, and crisp white cottons. By unleashing our imaginations on these "forgotten fabrics," we applied their old-fashioned goodness in new ways in eight great projects, and provided you with some tired-and-true sewing techniques as well, such as shirring, fagoting and hemstitching. To help celebrate all these terrific and trendy ways to use classic fabrics, Fabric.com has provided us with a $200 gift certificate. That's right: TWO Hundred Dollars!

One lucky Sew4Home fan will be going on a dream shopping spree. To sweeten the deal even more, we're adding a S4H Bonus Bundle: several generous ½ - 1 yard cuts of Clover Mini Iron II, which we reviewed during the series. For a chance to win, simply take a few minutes to browse the Fabric.com site, then leave us a short comment about your favorite "forgotten fabric" and what you would make from it.

We encourage you to give these great classic fabrics a try. Fabric.com has a wonderful selection of all the options we used throughout the series... as well as many, many... many more. Always at great discount prices and always with free shipping on orders of $35 and more.

Take a look back at these 11 projects, tips, and product reviews:

I'd like to make a nautical quilt, so I'd love to have the chevron prints from Premier Prints. I'm thinking plaids, chevron, and some nautical fabrics would work well. There's so much at Fabric.com that I KNOW I could find what I need for this project. smilies/grin.gif

I love "the very hungry caterpillar" fabric and am looking at it for quite some time. My son loves the book and I would make some curtains, fabric bins, maybe a quilt and pillows with the fabric.
Thanks for the giveaway!

The Peacock Toile Chocolate tote from Monday got me energized to sew some pillows for my living room with that fabric. If I won the $200 from fabric.com, I'd purchase my pillow fabric and also some of the Azalea/Ivory ticking stripe fabric for bedroom drapes. I'm hoping to win!

I love making aprons -- I have four to wear right now depending on the season, and I'm making them for my friends and family, too. I like them, not only because they protect my clothes from oil stains, but because they make me feel so lady-like. I'm all about women's rights and being able to work just as hard as a man, but there is something special about wearing an apron while preparing dinner for my husband that makes it all feel very homey. I love it when he comes home, smells my cooking, and kisses me on the cheek to say thanks. So, whenever I saw the article about "mom's favorite apron" it made me think about how other people must associate such things with home too. I went on fabric.com wanting to find some good apron fabrics that reminded me of the soft comforts of home, and I stumbled across the Heather Bailey Garden District Home Decor Fabric collection. I really like the Mockingbird Sateen series (especially the pink: Item Number EZ-398 ). I also looked up some toile fabrics even though I don't particularly care for toile -- or didn't until I saw the Covington Musee Toile Ebony/Ivory (Item Number UL-793). How gorgeous would that pattern be if made into a simple clutch purse? Especially if the lining was matching vertical stripes. So classy!

Oh, the fabric! I don't know where to start... I think I would love the eyelet to make some summer dresses for the girls, just like the ones my mom made for my sisters and me! Lots of pretty cotton prints to make a special summer party dress for a summer birthday girl. Just don't get me started on the quilting fabric! I could fill a house with it! I would have a lifetime of quilts to make! So much fun looking at all the really cool fabrics.

I love the Kokka fabrics - I used the Marine Lighthouse in navy for a tote bag and the Ruby Star Rising for a tea towel for my daughter-in-law. She loves it, and the two little grandsons love looking at it as it hangs on the oven handle and naming all the different images.

My favorite is the seersucker. It reminds me of days at a lake house our friends owned when I was little. Sitting out on the deck in lounge chairs with seersucker covered cushions. Seersucker to me is long days at a lake, lemonade, movie night and happiness. I would love to make something from seersucker soon. I probably would make pillow cases like the ones you demonstrated. They look crisp and clean and classical.

My facbric techinicall isn't a forgotten fabric but you did inspire me to go to fabric.com and as soon as I saw this red with white polka dot home decor fabric I knew it was just what I had been searching years for to use on an antique chair for our bedroom. I'm going to paint the chair a shiny black and cover the seat, cushion and back in the red/white polka dot. I bought some large white rickrack that I am going to use somewhere and the end result should look like a little girl with her cheerful dress and black patent leather shoes. Over the years I have bought yards of fabric to cover this chair but nothing ever inspired me. I am ready to go now thanks to you.
