THIS CONTEST ENDED 5/11/12. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO ENTERED.

What fun we've had during the past three weeks of our Everything Old is New Again series, sponsored by Fabric.com! We brought back some of the old standards of the fabric world: candy colored seersucker, delicate eyelet, rich linen, traditional toile, flirty little floral prints, and crisp white cottons. By unleashing our imaginations on these "forgotten fabrics," we applied their old-fashioned goodness in new ways in eight great projects, and provided you with some tired-and-true sewing techniques as well, such as shirring, fagoting and hemstitching. To help celebrate all these terrific and trendy ways to use classic fabrics, Fabric.com has provided us with a $200 gift certificate. That's right: TWO Hundred Dollars!

One lucky Sew4Home fan will be going on a dream shopping spree. To sweeten the deal even more, we're adding a S4H Bonus Bundle: several generous ½ - 1 yard cuts of Clover Mini Iron II, which we reviewed during the series. For a chance to win, simply take a few minutes to browse the Fabric.com site, then leave us a short comment about your favorite "forgotten fabric" and what you would make from it.

We encourage you to give these great classic fabrics a try. Fabric.com has a wonderful selection of all the options we used throughout the series... as well as many, many... many more. Always at great discount prices and always with free shipping on orders of $35 and more.

Take a look back at these 11 projects, tips, and product reviews:

My sewing room is done Ala Fabric.com. I love everything I've ever purchased from them. I did my room using their decorator weight fabric as well as some Waverly prints. Waverly makes a great product over and over again.

Thanks for such a wonderful collection of projects . . . I took a trip back in time, when my mom made our clothes, the matching outfits for our dolls, our bed linens, the curtains . . . such a nice trip! Since I spend quite a bit at Fabric.com (just saw the Moda School Days -yay!), I would love to win!

I love the seersucker and the linen. Both are fabrics I used to use quite frequently and local retailers do not carry it anymore. I love the S4H website and I am glad you introduced me to Fabric.com.

Since we recently moved and I gave a lot of fabric to charity quilters rather than move a lot of it, I could replace some of it now that I have a room just for sewing. I love, love MY space. I would also share some of the gift cert with a dear friend.

I love Fabric.com! I love the linens, but seersucker is pretty enticing. My mom made a lot of things for me and my two sisters from seersucker back in the 50's and 60's- love the nostalgia it brings!!

Over 30 years ago, I made a dress of white eyelet that all of my girls for for their First Holy Communion. I have nine granddaughters, and of course, all of them will wear the same dress, and everyone will have their name embroidered in the lining. What I didn't plan was that my youngest daughter would have twin girls. OOPS!! Only one dress. Not to worry, Fabric.com has eyelet fabric that will almost match perfectly. I still have the pattern, so each girl will have a dress to wear.

Hi! I have a serious fabric addiction! I think a forgotten fabric would be silk and lace! I plan on making a children's silk romper with shirred 1.5" lace on the bodice and leg holes...leaving the center to bubble. Very Vintage! Would love $200 to support my habitsmilies/grin.gif

I love Fabric.com. I just ordered the fabric for the French Market tote from Fabric.com. A forgotten fabric to me is searsucker. My mom made most of my summer clothes from this fabric and it brings back memories of playing outdoors in the Louisiana hot summer. Those were fun times smilies/smiley.gif I plan on making something from searsucker for my little granddaughter from a vintage pattern if I can find one her size.

I love that seersucker you used, and would love to win some! My other favorite you used in the featured projects was the European Linen. I've seen that on Fabric.com many times and loved it, but can't usually pay that price. (Although it is half off right now!) I would make a wardrobe of summer linen skirts with fun seams and embroidery.
Besides the fabric, I'd love to win the mini iron. I was gifted with a different compact iron, and for its small size it is very bulky and hard to work with. smilies/wink.gif

A forgotten fabric I found on Fabric.com is eyelet. I love the simplicity of it and how feminine it is. I would make some pretty curtains and a bedskirt for our spare room out of it. I also found the LACE. I love lace!

I have such fond memories of Easter dresses made from dotted swiss. The aqua and hot pink dotted swiss fabrics at fabric.com are wonderful. I think a full skirt and peasant blouse would be great and very retro. H-m-m-m. Also all of the retro looking kitchen fabrics want me to redo my whole kitchen or at least make an apron or two.

When I was a kid, I loved the feel of corduroy. Corduroy pants, corduroy jackets, and then I had this heinous yellow rain coat. It's only redeeming quality was that it had a small strip of corduroy on the inner collar. I get all warm and fuzzy just thinking about it. Fabric.com has so many fantastic choices! I would love to add some Kaffe Fassett to my stash, and make a nice big quilt for my bed out of it.

A forgotten fabric I found on Fabric.com is the Rayon Challis. I haven't seen so many colors and patterns for this fabric since...well, since the early 70s! The paisley designs, and the tiny florals really took me back to when I first started sewing seriously for myself. These fabrics inspire me to make a fit and flare dress, some skirts, and even some window treatments. LOVE Rayon Challis, it's a dream to sew. And I LOVE Fabric.com!
