S4H Summer School: WIN!

Printer-friendly versionSend by emailPDF version

THIS CONTEST ENDED 07/20/12. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO ENTERED.

We hope you've enjoyed your week in S4H Summer School. You uncovered a treasure trove of tips on Monday to LEARN. Tuesday gave you Eight Great Sizzlin' Summer projects to SEW. Wednesday was the day to SHOP in general and through our great S4H sponsors in particular. Yesterday, we encouraged you to spread the love of sewing with Eight Project Pairs to SHARE. And today... there's no final test to study for, just a Great Giveaway to enjoy!

As many of our S4H regulars know, Sew4Home is very proud to be a featured studio is the upcoming August/September/October issue of one of our all-time favorites mags: Where Women Create. As as un-planned lead-up to this big event, we were recently excited to find out we are also in the current May/June/July issue! Riley Blake Designs' regular column, The Business of the Studio features a list of their Top 25 Picks for the web's most Inspirational & Educational Blogs. Whoo-hoo... Sew4Home made the cut!

So... why am I going on and on about this in a Great Giveaway article? Well, other than the fact we're over-the-moon thrilled to be noticed by folks we so greatly admire ourselves, it all leads to the fun items we're giving away.

First, we have a beautiful, hot-off-the-press copy of this month's Where Women Create magazine, with the Top 25 List page flagged. Of course, you'll read that first, but you'll also want to check out the amazingly creative worlds of Shelly Kennedy of drooz studio; Kathy Cano-Murillo, the Crafty Chica herself; heirloom queen, Martha Pullen; and lots more!

Then, when we were getting my own bright red home studio ready for our Where Women Create photo shoot, our good friends at Moda were very kind to send us a box of beautiful pre-cuts to use to help with the decorating. So, now, we're trying to be just as nice by passing some of these lovelies along to you!

The Summer School Giveaway Includes...

One copy of the May/June/July 160-page Where Women Create fab magazine.

THIS CONTEST ENDED 07/20/12. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO ENTERED.

Simply sign up for our Sew4Home mail list. Enter your email address into the box at the top of any page on the site - under the bright red heading: Subscribe to Our Newsletter. If you already receive our emails, your work here is done.

Some of you may noticed we sent out a few daily emails a few weeks back as a test. We've had a ton of people ask for this daily reminder in their email box. However, we received a number of complaints about the increase in mail. So, we'd like to use this Giveaway opportunity to take an unscientific survey. If you have a strong opinion one way or the other, leave us a comment below. Let us know if you prefer hearing from us just once a week; if you love hearing what's up every day; or if you like the weekly alerts, but would be interested in a few special notices here and there. We know we can't make everyone happy every time, but... we like to give it the ol' college try.

We will draw one person at random from everyone signed up on our mail list as of midnight PT July 20, 2012. No purchase necessary to enter. Void where prohibited.

We will contact our random winner by email to confirm and coordinate shipping of all the goodies.

NOTE: Due to complex contest legal restrictions and customs requirements that differ from country to country, we are currently able to send prizes to a USA postal address only (cannot be a P.O. Box). Good luck to everyone!

Remember, simple sign up for the newsletter to enter. And post a comment below if you'd like to weigh in on email frequency.

Scroll to the BOTTOM of the page to find the comment window. After you post, your comment will automatically display at the TOP of the comments on the page.

I like the daily reminders to check in - couldn't you offer both options for people to choose from?

Weekly sounds good to me -- so long as I still get content in my google reader...

One of the things I really like about your informational emails is that you send one out at the beginning of the week. No overload, just a great look-ahead to the week's features. This makes me anticipate the projects and tips coming up. If you send too many emails, I think it will lose my interest. Thanks for asking

No additional emails, please. I like the Facebook update instead of a message.

I like the weekly alerts, but would be interested in a few special notices here and there. Love all the different projects on the blog.  Keep up the GREAT work.

I prefer weekly emails.  I just decluttered my email account and almost unsubscribed because of being overwhelmed.  But I just couldn't miss out!

All that for one person? Hope it's me! I prefer weekly emails with special notices every once in a while.

I Say Weekly emails are fine.  I rather get enjoyable email that i want to read rather than some silly spam.  Thanks for this great giveaway!

I prefer a once weekly newsletter. I noticed that you had changed and was way too much email. With the once a week, I can take the time to quickly read it, leave it in my inbox so can refer to it, and schedule my time to visit your blog for the articles that interest me the most.

I like weekly email with occasional special notices.  Love the site!  Great projects and tutorials.

I like the daily reminders.  I don't always have time to look at the site when the weekly reminder would come, so a daily reminder is a nice way to prompt me to check out the projects.

Wow!  What a great giveaway!!!

I like the daily reminder so I don't miss a great project coming up on Wednesdays or Thursdays that I don't remember.  Would it be possible for you to give the option for daily or weekly when they sign up so everyone could be happy or is that too complicated - I'm not very techy that way.  :o)

I like the weekly emails as long as I don't miss anything. An alert would be nice as a reminder to enter a giveaway.

I would love a daily update, I get the weekly, but forget to come back to see what is new each day, so a daily reminder with a link, would be wonderful.

Weekly is good - I especially like the ones on Monday with the weeks ahead.  Then I can check if there is something that I would like to learn about.

I enjoy your blog and check it everyday for new ideas, tutorials, and pretty fabrics.  I prefer getting the emails once a week or even once in a while, since I already go to the site on a daily basis.  Btw, this is an amazing giveaway!!!

I prefer once a week.  Then I can actually take the time to head over here and check out what's been going on.  More often, and I tend to just delete to empty my inbox a little.

If daily emails from your site contain useful tips and beautiful projects from you, that would be alright with me. I truly love this site and how well you detail the projects! I also love seeing the new fabrics and patterns as I add to my collection, so keep showcasing the new designs and ideas!

I've been getting the weekly email for awhile and while I don't need it, I like the reminder. I just leave it in my junk mail and when I check the junk mail, it's a nice reminder.

I would prefer to get a daily email because the weekly one becomes quickly buried in other emails I get daily so I rarely remember to get back here on the day I wanted if I saw something in that weekly 'outline'.

For some time I have enjoyed visiting your web page. You creations and directions have been great.  I would look everydday to see what was new so receiving an email everyday is good. Daily is a great reminder to look,

Carol
