Janome America is one of the Signature Sponsors of Sew4Home. They’ve been with us since the beginning and provide all our studio machines. We are definitely Janome-aholics, and for good reason. Their machines give us the power, precision and stitch quality to create projects that look amazing every time. Whether we’re doing beautiful edgestitching and topstitching, going through multiple layers like a hot knife through butter, or producing stunning decorative stitching and embroidery; we count on our Janome machines every day, and they never disappoint. Today, we’re bragging about the newest Janome, the top-of-the-line Horizon Memory Craft 15000, which arrives this month at Certified Janome Dealers. Billed as the embroidery, sewing and quilting machine designed to take you Anywhere You Want To Go, this new model is a technological powerhouse… it can even connect wirelessly with an iPad®!

What we love most about the new MC15000 isn’t simply the fact there is a long list of amazing features, it’s that Janome engineers have made those features so easy to use. If I need a stack of manuals and an advanced degree to operate a machine (and believe me, I have owned some brands where both these things are a requirement), why bother?! Technology for technology’s sake gets in the way of my creativity. I want a machine so intuitive and logical, I can open the box, turn it on, and go.

“The easier the tools, the more creative you become.” That’s the Janome motto, and it proves itself again and again. The Horizon Memory Craft 15000 follows through on this legacy. I’ve summarized some of its top features below, and Janome America shared with us some photos of the machine as well as a few of the beautiful projects they made for the machine’s debut… a number of which are available as step-by-step instructions and/or detailed techniques on the new MC15000 website. Please read on… but this is a model you need to see – and use – in person. That’s really the only way to truly witness the clarity of the high-def touch screen, hear how quiet it is, and experience the hundreds of amazing designs stitching out. Gotta see it to believe it!

Largest touch screen

The touch screen on the MC15000 measures 9″ diagonally with more than double the resolution of the previous model. The screen is slightly angled toward you so it’s easy to see. With 16,000,000 colors and full 800 x 480 pixel resolution, it’s like working on your favorite tablet computer.

iPad® connection and more

This is the first Memory Craft that can use the wireless Internet connection in your home to communicate with your iPad® via two free apps that can be downloaded from the App Store with the purchase of the MC15000. The first app is AcuMonitor™. It allows you to watch the progress of the embroidery stitchout remotely. The second app is AcuEdit™, which allows you to use your iPad® to design embroidery layouts while relaxing on the couch. It can also connect to a PC or laptop via your home’s wireless network.

Space and stability

The MC15000 has the widest sewing bed and largest touch screen of any Memory Craft. And the embroidery unit is the most stable and accurate ever. With every project you get quiet power and unmatched precision.

480 Built-In Embroidery Designs

Divided into 15 categories, the designs have been optimized for one of the five standard embroidery hoops or to be used as elements in building a larger design. You can work with designs of up to 200,000 stitches.

500 decorative and utility stitches, most 9 mm wide

This model has the most sewing and decorative stitches ever on a Memory Craft plus 13 buttonholes.

Quick change needle plates and a new automatic needle threader

You can switch between the regular and straight stitch needle plates in seconds –with no screwdriver. Just press a lever to pop out one plate, then pop in the other. Done. “Look, Ma… no hands!” The improved needle threader does it all with the push of a button and is super fast. Love it!

High Light™ illumination and 3 AcuView™ magnifiers

It’s like getting a special “eye-saver” package free. The High Light™ slides out from the top of the machine and can be positioned to throw maximum illumination right down on the needle area. The AcuView™ magnifier comes standard with three lens options of varying power.

That is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. As I mentioned above, you have to see this machine in action to appreciate all the features and benefits. Janome also has a full website dedicated to the MC15000.

Certified Janome Dealers (dealers who received intensive training on the machine at Janome Institute) are starting to receive shipments this month. Check out the Janome Dealer locator and look for the MC15000 icon to spot the Certified Dealers in your area.

The MSRP on the new machine is $11,999. Before you stop breathing, we can also say this is a very competitive price, if not a bit on the low side when compared similar (but not as cool) top-of-the-line models from other manufacturers. And keep in mind that each Certified Janome America Dealer is an independent owner, so he/she works with customers on a case-by-case basis; offering trade-in discounts, financing options, education packages, accessory bundles, etc. We were told about great limited-time, 48-month financing deals as well as opportunities to receive an Apple iPad® with purchase. But again, you need to speak with a Certified Dealer to find out exactly which options are waiting for you.

Even if this is a “dream machine” for you right now, we still encourage you to visit your local dealer to try it out. It will allow you to determine which features are most important to you, and you can test other Janome models at the same time. There’s a huge range of possibilities, and that famous Janome quality we keep harping on can be found on each and every one.

Congratulations, Janome! You’ve created an amazing machine, and we believe it really can take you, Anywhere You Want To Go!
