Yes, that is an interesting spelling in the title above, and it’s meant to be that way. The Loominous collection by Anna Maria Horner is indeed luminous with a wonderfully rich color palette, but it is also LOOMinous because it’s woven with yarn dyed cotton threads. We put our heads together with our friends at Fabric Depot when this collection first came out several months ago, but it’s been so popular, the yardage has been flying off the shelves. So our new scarves project is timed to debut with a full re-stocking; the FabricDepot.com virtual shelves are full and ready to ship some luminous Luminous to you!
Toasty. That’s what this big blanket is all about. We combined a plush Sherpa style faux fur with a rich faux suede: soft on one side, smooth on the other, and bound all around with the suede. The natural tones and classic Berber check give it the rustic look of a lumberjack jacket. But the only hard work ahead for this throw is keeping you toasty by the fire. Fabric Depot has a wonderful selection of both the sherpa and the faux suede. Check out the alternate combinations we put together for each of the Berber Check colors.
Elegant but with just a touch of whimsy, our cinched evening bag miniaturizes the classic bucket shape. We shopped with our friends at Fabric Depot to select two of the most popular special occasion fabrics: velvet and silk. In particular: Triple Velvet, which is a nylon and acetate combination that creates a gorgeous drape with absolutely no stretch; and Silk Dupioni with its wonderfully crisp, slightly textured finish. We use ribbon as both a bright accent on the exterior and a striking drawcord to create the softly gathered top.
If you want a truly hardworking apron, it’s hard to beat oilcloth. It’s durable, easy to clean (great when kids are involved), and the bold designs and bright colors are fun for any occasion – many with a retro feel. We chose our cuts from the amazing selection of oilcloth at Fabric Depot to create easy bound aprons in sizes for both kids and adults. Our thanks to Fabric Depot for underwriting the patterns, making the downloads free to you!
There's power in plaid! It's a fashion staple that never goes out of style. Dress it up or dress it down - it's fabulous in every way. We used a double layer of cozy plaid flannel for our fringed scarves. It's a great alternative to wool plaids, which can be itchy to wear around your face and neck. Here's a bit of fun flannel history: it was originally made of carded wool or worsted yarn. Today, the coziness comes from cotton. 100% cotton flannel is super soft; with two layers, it's super-duper soft. We picked out our flannels from the great selection at Fabric Depot where there are enough choices to put together dozens of powerful plaid pairs.
For yourself or as a gift, this shoulder bag is the ideal blend of two winter wardrobe staples: soft plaid flannel and crisp denim. The bag’s slight teardrop shape and soft construction gives it a signature slouch that’s as everyday-comfortable as your favorite flannel shirt and jeans. Plaid is the hot topic in fashion this season, and you’ll love the selection of Flannel Plaids at Fabric Depot. We chose the yarn-dyed Mammoth Flannel, which is woven in for an all-the-way through richness that is the perfect compliment to the stripe and solid denim. We love shopping at Fabric Depot where we can get everything in one easy stop.
We’ve all seen those long foam pool noodles. They’re the fun and colorful floats in the world of water. We’ve invited them inside with our exclusive Land Noodles™. Thin, soft, and flexible, they're made with rolled batting wrapped in cozy Cuddle luxury plush fleece. Fabric Depot has one of the best selections anywhere of Shannon Fabrics’ signature Cuddle and we picked five combinations in a variety of prints and textures. With Land Noodles™, you’ll still be floating, but it will be on a cloud of softness.
Spring is the traditional time for cleaning out the old and organizing the new, but in many ways, Fall seems like a better time to tidy up. As the days get shorter and the weather cooler, our “inner hibernating bear” comes out. It’s time to gather up our favorite things and settle in for winter days ahead. These cool round bins are the perfect way to store and stash your stuff. We shopped the Home Décor selection at Fabric Depot and found a striking graphic print in two coordinating colors to make a pair of matching bins. From fabric and yarn to books and magazines, this is a stylish storage solution for whatever clutter you need to corral.
Bet you never thought a skeleton could be soft and cuddly. He can be if he’s a body pillow cover! We were having a great time browsing the Halloween selection at Fabric Depot when we came across the best skeleton fabric panel ever. He’s nearly full size and glows in the dark! After a bit of measuring, we discovered he was also the absolutely perfect size to become the best skeleton body pillow cover ever.
Ahhhhh, the sleepover. If there was ever an misnomer, this would be it, since the amount of sleeping that usually happens at such an event is minimal at best. The whole idea is to pile everyone together into one room and laugh until the wee hours. Our sleepover sack is a perfect choice for however much dozing gets done. We worked with our friends at Fabric Depot to select cozy flannel in two bright prints along with a coordinating cotton. Make a matching pillowcase to complete the sleepover set. We also added a cute, wraparound harness so the bag can be rolled and secured with a built-in handle to carry it to its destination.
