Today in our 10 Designers & 10 Collections series, we are taking a walk on the wild side with our good friend, Anna Maria Horner. We've created three incredible throw pillows in Anna's Field Study collection. Anna is always ahead of the curve when it comes to producing collections in a fun variety of substrates. Field Study is available now in quilting cotton, laminate, velveteen and voile, and will be coming soon in a linen. For our pillows, we chose amazing animal print velveteens paired with lush quilting cottons. Each pillow is framed with a gorgeous brush fringe. By using the same fringe on each along with one matching print (the animal print velveteen) in multiple colorways, all three pillows coordinate beautifully, yet all three are different.

We all have our favorites: favorite colors, favorite TV shows, favorite foods. But you probably wouldn't go to a restaurant and always order the same dish, as much as you might love it. It's exciting to be adventurous, to look at something new, because variety is the spice of life. This is the underlying theme of a brand new series, starting today with our friends at FreeSpirit and Rowan Fabrics. We've selected 10 Designers and 10 Collections to create a dozen incredible projects, and we've included several how-to tutorials plus an awesome Great Giveaway. So get ready to mix it up for the new year, and make a resolution to try something new for yourself. We start with a bold clutch with a beautiful big ball clasp. Dress it up or dress it down. We made three, using six beautiful fabrics from Joel Dewberry's Notting Hill collection for FreeSpirit Fabrics. 

Here's a romantic Valentine's story: a pretty patchwork quilt meets an old softie fleece; they fall in love and become inseparable. That's the true tale of today's beautiful lap blanket. The front is a patchwork of Layer Cake squares from the Kissing Booth collection by BasicGrey for Moda Fabrics. The back is a cuddly fleece so there's no need for batting. The blanket is bound around the edges and also tied. But, it's not just a traditional tied knot... oh no! There are sixteen 2½" cornerstone squares across the middle of the quilt, and each square is tied through with a little yarn bow, creating the look of sixteen pretty gift boxes. Wrap up your Valentine in this warm and wonderful blanket.

We're getting ready early for Valentine's Day with a series of four projects in the brand new Kissing Booth by BasicGrey for Moda Fabrics. We're big BasicGrey fans here at S4H, and so were anxious to work with their latest collection. The colors are traditional Valentine's favorites: plenty of reds, pinks, creams and browns, but we loved how the tones were richer and warmer than usual, and they sound so delicious: Cherry Cordial, Candy Pink, Crème Brûlée and Chocolate. The motifs have a softly vintage feel, as if you've discovered a treasure box of love letters tucked inside an ancient trunk. Yet there's nothing old-fashioned; the lines are clean and fresh. Today's elegant half apron features Dozen Roses in Cherry Cordial, a dense crush of watercolor roses with a textured lace overlay. We added jaunty oval pockets, pretty tucks and a rick rack hem. Pretty sweet style, don't you think?
