Pinks and gray, or pink and chocolate compliment each other in a soft, gentle way that looks both luxe and sophisticated. Rather than reviewing full collections this month, we chose to focus on random prints within our color theme. Pick one and make a pretty pillow, or pick a bunch and make an eclectic patchwork quilt. So many creative options! Browse our favorite shops in our new Shopping Directory. We have worked extensively with the terrific people who operate these businesses and they have delighted us with their products and service at every interaction. They also help support our ability to provide free tutorials and patterns to you. Show 'em some love, and we'll give it back to you.

Column One and Two

These prints are all from Michael Miller Fabrics. They are either in stores now or will be this month. So if you don't find these where you shop, check back or ask your fave fabric shop if they will carry it.

Column 1

I've sketched out a small clutch I plan to make using the Dandy Damask in Bloom with some gray velvet ribbon, lined in Pink Elephants. If it turns out as I hope, we'll do a tutorial.

The next SIX prints will be in stores in this month (May) as part of the "It's A Girl Thing" release from Michael Miller.
  • Bloom - Dandy Damask
  • Gray - Quaint Cupcakes
  • Bloom - Feeling Groovy

Column 2

  • Bloom - Daisy Flowers
  • Blossom - Disco Dot
  • Bloom - Zoology
  • Gray - Tammis Cats
Found it: City Craft and Fat Quarter Shop (check out all of the Tammis Keefe Tribute prints, they are fabulous!)

Column Three and Four

All of the following prints are available in stores or online now.

Finding Fabric

If you see a particular fabric online that you like, you can check your favorite fabric source to find out if they have it in stock or can get it for you. You can also try Googling the fabric name along with the designer's name or the design house, for example: Hullabaloo, Urban Chiks and/or Moda. Prints from older collections can sometimes be found on Etsy or eBay. If you love a fabric, get it while you can. Because, like fashionable apparel, popular fabrics come and go; at some point even the most amazing fabrics are no longer in stores or online.

Thanks for the ways to find these fabrics. This is a great color combination for a bathroom that a man and a woman share.

Love pink and gray. I know what I like, but have trouble putting it together with confidence. Thanks for doing that for me. I have 5 prints from this group picked out to buy. Made it easy.

Oh my gosh, I thought those cats looked like Tammis Keefe! I have a couple of vintage handkerchiefs that I love; my eye was drawn right to those cats. And there's a whole line of tribute fabric? Wow. There goes the budget...
