Amazing Deals & Great Giveaway from The Ribbon Retreat

Printer-friendly versionSend by emailPDF version

All the gifts are open and the tree is looking a little lonely. It's time for more presents! Today we're highlighting The Ribbon Retreat in our New Year Celebration series. Another long time sponsor of Sew4Home, The Ribbon Retreat is TWO amazing sites in one: Ribbon and Fabric. Their selection on both sides of the coin is stunning, and because you know we only work with the friendliest, most helpful folks, you can be guaranteed of quality products, prices and service. We're going to take a little tour through the miles of ribbon and yards of fabric from which to choose. We invite you to do the same, and at the conclusion, enter to win a $40 Gift Certificate! Our thanks to The Ribbon Retreat and all our wonderful sponsors for allowing us to help kick-off your 2014 sewing in a BIG way.

Let's start our tour with ribbon. I'm pretty sure The Ribbon Retreat (TRR) carries enough ribbon to wrap around the globe and tie a giant bow. Start with the classics you need for all kinds of projects, like dots, stripes and, of course, solid grosgrain and satin in various widths and a rainbow of colors.

Next, browse their huge selection of printed ribbons, including a special selection of TRR Exclusive Printed Designs. These Exclusives are printed in the USA on high quality grosgrain and include trendy chevrons, special holiday motifs, a gorgeous Damask collection, and more.

Feeling overwhelmed? They have you covered there as well with great Mixes, Packs and Kits that offer pre-packaged selections of favorites bundled by color, seasonal motif and other clever combos.

Ready to continue the tour? Let's turn down the Fabric path where there's so much more to discover. All fabric at TRR is available as a fat quarter and in increments of ¼ yard. Many online outlets don't allow such small cuts, so this is a real benefit to you! TRR ships internationally, and most orders go out within one business day.

Anything in the Fabric section of the website can be combined and shipped with purchases from the Ribbon section, making your shopping super easy and convenient.

TRR recently expanded their fabric selection to include knits, as well as a lovely selection of Cuddle and Minky and flannel. Plus check out their Little Fatties: six coordinated fat quarters, many from your favorite designers, at a great price.

TRR gets in new fabric almost weekly, and you can find out about the latest and greatest in the New Fabric section. Or, follow them on Facebook and/or Pinterest to keep up on new arrivals. This will also alert you to their new tutorials

Our tour bus has arrived back at the station, but your browsing can continue 7 days a week, 24-hours a day. As part of our New Year Celebration series, TRR has provided a $40 Gift Certificate for one lucky Sew4Home visitor. To enter to win, simply leave a brief comment below, telling us which TRR fabric line or ribbon collection you'd like to use to "tie-up" a few of those 2013 UFOs (un-finished-objects).

I made the Santa Letter Pocket Pillows from the November 22, 2013 newsletter.  ADORABLE!  They featured Kaufman's How the Grinch Stole Christmas fabrics.  I would love to use Kaufman's Cindy Lou, Holiday Grinch or Happy Holiday Grinch fabrics and coordinating prints to make quilts to go with the pocket pillows to give to my grands next Christmas.  Wouldn't it be fun to have coordinating pillows and quilts?!?

I love the exclusive prints! They offer so many options for making hair bows. I also love the dots and ruffled edges as they are the accents for my bows. I get so discouraged when I shop locally for ribbon variety, there just isn't anything to really get me excited. I am going to start shopping TRR!

Since the arrival of Teen Beach Movie, my 4-year old has ditched her love of tiaras for bikers and polka dots. The character Leah wears a red with white polka dot dress. And my little one has mentioned it many many times. My project is to make her a dress using Riley Blake's polka dot knits.

Gosh, I have a few UFO's on the table at this time.  However, I want to use "Summer Breeze" by "Bella Blvd." to complete the canvas tote bags I am sewing "ruffles" on.  The patterns in this line offer a playful look for the bags I am completing for my daughter's bridesmaids, as a gift from Me.  You can find the line here:   http://www.theribbonretreat.com/Fabric/summer-breeze.aspx

Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to win this fabulous prize!

I have several projects in mind but one I am excited about trying is making a set of  long-lasting all-occasion & holiday gift bags out of fabrics and ribbons (I especially love the holiday striped assortment of ribbons but the snow flakes and snowmen and penguin designs are adorable, as well).  Bags will be made suitable for a variety of age groups and for male/female... and made in the sizes we tend to use the most.  Some will be made from yardage bought with bags in mind, but many many more will use up scraps and remnants from other projects.  I think these bags are a wise choice of scrap-use for a non-quilter like me.
