THIS CONTEST ENDED 5/11/12. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO ENTERED.

What fun we've had during the past three weeks of our Everything Old is New Again series, sponsored by Fabric.com! We brought back some of the old standards of the fabric world: candy colored seersucker, delicate eyelet, rich linen, traditional toile, flirty little floral prints, and crisp white cottons. By unleashing our imaginations on these "forgotten fabrics," we applied their old-fashioned goodness in new ways in eight great projects, and provided you with some tired-and-true sewing techniques as well, such as shirring, fagoting and hemstitching. To help celebrate all these terrific and trendy ways to use classic fabrics, Fabric.com has provided us with a $200 gift certificate. That's right: TWO Hundred Dollars!

One lucky Sew4Home fan will be going on a dream shopping spree. To sweeten the deal even more, we're adding a S4H Bonus Bundle: several generous ½ - 1 yard cuts of Clover Mini Iron II, which we reviewed during the series. For a chance to win, simply take a few minutes to browse the Fabric.com site, then leave us a short comment about your favorite "forgotten fabric" and what you would make from it.

We encourage you to give these great classic fabrics a try. Fabric.com has a wonderful selection of all the options we used throughout the series... as well as many, many... many more. Always at great discount prices and always with free shipping on orders of $35 and more.

Take a look back at these 11 projects, tips, and product reviews:

Fabric.com has so many wonderful fabrics it is hard to choose. A "forgotten" fabric that caught my eye was ticking stripes. My grandmother's beds used to have feather mattresses covered in blue ticking--wouldn't it be fun to use that same ticking as a quilt backing, as a sort of "wink" at those childhood memories? Maybe for a quilt for my cousin...

I love your ideas so I took an old seersucker shirt and made my grandson Vincent a Cuddly Bunny from your free pattern downloads I named Tuppy! I'd love to make Vincent a summer outfit from seersucker, cargo shorts and a button-up short-sleeve shirt. I made my granddaughter a bunny, too, named Miss Mabel, and I like the Metro Market Watermelon white for a dress for both Miss Mabel bunny and my granddaughter Willow. I've made both my daughters retro aprons, but now they want seasonal aprons, so I must work on that, too. Plus my Son-in-law and Grandson need matching grilling aprons for Father's Day! I really liked many of the Metro fabrics in Kaufman's collection for kitchen and table items for my house - so much fun fabric to choose from. Such fun to look forward to!

Just the other day I spent two hours looking at the beautiful fabrics Fabric.com has.
I like Calico. It's simple and I can do so much with it. Did you know it's been around since about the 11th century?

I don't know... there's a lot of gals entering this one! But it is a chance to say how much we enjoy getting our emails from both Fabric.com and Sew4Home.com. Both are full of wonderful inspiration. I think if I were to win I would want to select fabrics that I would not ordinarily purchase. That way I get to play outside of my box - and that seersucker is pretty great - it would bring a smile to my funny face smilies/shocked.gif seeing all that pretty fabric.
