Make Your Own Cute and Easy Pompoms: New Book Review & Giveaway

Printer-friendly versionSend by emailPDF version

THIS GREAT GIVEAWAY CLOSED 02/17/14. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO ENTERED.

I dare you to look at this new book from Creative Publishing International without breaking into a smile. Make Your Own Cute and Easy Pompoms features over 100 designs that turn everyday pompoms into fluffy little works of art. I love the fact that this book's author is "Pompoms," which I believe means these soft and bouncy fellas got together and wrote their own book of inspiration. Read on to see multi-color patterns built right into a pom, as well as specialty shapes, like a half-eaten apple or a baby chick. We give you a sneak peek and have a copy to give away.

We've used pompoms on many projects here at Sew4Home, from all-pom garlands to perky pillows. We even have our own tutorial on how to make basic ones. But, this book takes pompoms to a whole new level.

Make Your Own Cute and Easy Pompoms will take you from start to finish in the creation of a pompom. They show you the correct wrapping techniques, using both cardboard templates as well as the popular Clover Pom-Pom Makers, to achieve fun patterns, like flowers, stripes and more.

Follow along with the easy, step-by-step pictures and illustrated patterns as you create colorful pompoms for any project. They have great how-to photos and easy, thorough directions.

The photography in the book is absolutely gorgeous. By the time I finished, I was ready to add a pompom to everything I own.

And when is a pompom not round? When it's a tiny hedgehog, or a baby chick or even a tasty apple.

You can find Make Your Own Cute and Easy Pompoms online at Amazon and Barnes & Noble, at your favorite independent bookseller, and at many fabric and quilting shops.
