THIS GREAT GIVEAWAY ENDED 01/11/13. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO ENTERED.
Earlier this year, we introduced you to It's Sew Emma, the sister site of Fat Quarter Shop, specializing in paper and pdf quilt patterns. We knew there were more exciting things to come from this creative team, and sure enough... recently, their first book arrived in our mailbox: It's Sew Emma's Simply Fat Quarters - Quilts with Comfort & Style. Today, we take a peek inside and give you a chance to win a copy.
The 48-page Simply Fat Quarters features 10 exceptional quilts, all using fat quarters as their main patchworking element. Though written with the beginning quilter in mind, the variety of designs will capture the imaginations of seasoned quilters as well.
If you are a Sew4Home regular visitor, you know we are sticklers for detail, so we turned a critical eye on the instructions and illustrations in this book. Both are very well done. Step-by-step directions take you through the construction of each block and the assembly of those blocks into the finished quilt top; they even go as far as telling you which direction to press the seam allowances!
The full color block diagrams are clear and precise. And, the editors have provided fabric requirements and cutting instructions for four different sizes: crib, lap, twin and king. That's a lot of math you won't have to do!
All the quilts are lovely, but we were particularly captivated by Zap by Sarah Price.
Poppy by Kimberly Jolly.
And, Retreat by Jocelyn Ueng.

New Quilting Book from It's Sew Emma - You Could Win a Copy!

I love Zap! I haven't seen that pattern. I would like to win!
I would love to have this book - I particularly like the lap quilt, Out in the Wild! So cute! And I also love the table runners - Please pick me!
So many quilt patterns that I liked! My favorite pattern would have to be "Pinwheel Parade". It would be adorable in bright colors on my granddaughter's bed!
wow, had not been to the its sew emma site before, just my kind of quilts! Love the new one wagon wheel that is to come out this month. Would love to win the book, thanks so much for the chance!!
I like Paris Flea Market Find.
It was the first time I've visited the "It's Sew Emma" website and I really enjoyed looking at all their patterns. It is hard to pick just one! It was a toss-up for me between the "Color Me Crayons" and "Star Light, Star Bright" quilt. I am particularly fond of bright colors against light background fields. They are just so "juicy" !! I had a really great time. Thanks for the suggestion and opportunity.
I think the "Georgia" quilt pattern is just gorgeous. Love all the white space in it! But, they have several cute ones on there. I know I'd love the book. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
I have grown to love the pattern designs offered by It's Sew Emma. My favorite is Paris Flea Market Find. The simple design and combination of colors are wonderful. Would love to win the new book!
Love the look of 'Accentuate the Positive'. Tessellation quilts are my favorites.
I love the Paris Flea Market Find. The soft shades are beautiful!
Georgia and Paris FleaMarket Find are tied in my opinion! I have not quilted for years, but now find myself with both the time and tons of fabric scraps! It goes against the grain to dispose of those scraps, so it looks like I had better get to work on a quilt project!

I just love so many of the It's Sew Emma quilt patterns that it't tough to choose. I emailed on Dec 29th to ask for clarification of the pattern we liked because your 'qualifying comment' info was asking for two different things so it's hard to know what you wanted us to do. You have asked us to go check out the Top Selling patterns and then come back and post what our favorite NEW pattern is. The top selling and new patterns are on two different areas on the It's Sew Emma site though; not sure which you want. I've not gotten an answer so I'm answering what my favorite is under the Top Selling patterns area.
I really love the Color Wheel Quilt Pattern. I like the way each block is outlined in white.
@ vickit - our support team took a few days off over the holidays, but your email message was responded to today as follows:
"Simply visit It's Sew Emma and come back to S4H and post what you found that you like. We just suggested a few options, but the idea (as you can see from the other comments) is to just visit the site, look around, and see what you like."
So you've done just perfectly.
Love the Tablerunner pattern, "Windy Point Park". I need to make some tablerunners to dress up my house. I have printed out a few patterns from sew4home website and so far I have made the Gift bags, but will be sewing more in the future. Great website! Thank you.

Oh, and by the way, I love Sew 4 Home's website. I have been sewing for about 45 years and I love the tutorials and learning new methods. Wonderful website!
I really love the Retreat quilt, it just looks so cozy. And Accentuate the Positive has an elegant look, but also has a comfortable look. I don't quilt, but I love quilts and have a very dear friend who does beautiful quilting. If I won this book, I would absolutely give it to her!
To the Moon Robot is so cute! I really would love to try this one out for my grandsons.
Thistle makes me think of days out in the country. Definitely the quilt I would make first.
Drawn to Urban Grunge...not becuz of the name either. Nice modern feel.
I love the Tumbling Blocks pattern!

I loved Among the Stars....although it was a difficult choice to pick just one.
I just spent some wonderful time looking at the patterns , especially the "giggles" pattern from your new book. There are so many things to look at. I especially love the tutorials and the list of upcoming projects. great site.
Colorwheel is so sweet. I have a few baby quilts due in the late spring/early summer. Just waiting on the new Moms to let use know pink or blue!
I love the new little P's section. Boardwalk is a nice easy pattern that looks like it can be made fast and easy!
Loving all of the patterns, but my favorite has to be the Little Town Quilt Kit, Featuring City Centre by Print & Pattern!
hasI have been a registered guest at your site for a little over two years, so you have my contact info!
It's the magic of Kurt Weil's "..and we're lost out here in the stars." Among the Stars is the one - who would mind getting lost in it? Happy New Year
I was about to say "Among the Stars" was my favorite, but when I scrolled to the top and saw "Paris Flea Market" again, I knew that was the one. The book looks great, I really like the Poppy quilt and the colors chosen for it. I would love to win the book!
I love your new book! I like the whiteness of the poppy quilt. I hope I win the book! Cathie

Love the Paris Flea Market Find. Recently joined a quilting group. I feel that using fat quarters would be a great help to me in choosing colors for new quilts as it gives a head start on what goes with what. I would really appreciate winning the new quilting book from Sew Emma. I feel like it could really benefit me. Most of the ladies in my group are way ahead of me in knowlege. Thanks so much for giving me the opportunity to win this book.
I've been sewing for years and have just begun the world of sewing quilts. It's now the gift I give to New Mothers. I love how Emma's books and patterns are so helpful and show such creative ideas to sew with. I would enjoy her book to add to my sewing library. Happy 2013
I'm drawn to the Rooftop Orchard pattern because of the geometric shapes. Followed closely by . . . all the others. I'm very new to quilting and am overwhelmed by the beauty that some well thought out piecing can make.
Scrapy quilts are my favorite to make. Therefore this book provides the quilts I love to make. Great job.
Looks like a wonderful book, how could it NOT be ... coming from It's Sew Emma & FQS ! I'd have to choose Paris Flea Market Find, followed by a very close 2nd Garnet & Rubies ... Thanks for the chance to win & Happy 2013 !!!
