A Romantic Bedroom Retreat with Rowan & FreeSpirit Fabrics: Great Giveaway Times Two!

Printer-friendly versionSend by emailPDF version

THIS CONTEST ENDED 08/31/12. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO ENTERED.

Nine tutorials plus five techniques plus today's Great Giveaway equals three weeks of beauty and imagination. We hope you've enjoyed the Romantic Bedroom Retreat series with Rowan & FreeSpirit Fabric as much as we have. It was a challenge to take four new, and somewhat disparate collections, and bring them together into a harmonious theme, as well as blend in a variety of fabric substrates, such as voile, cotton sateen and laminates. But the result was well worth the work; we loved the final look of the Bedroom Retreat, and we were so happy to read all your comments and know you loved it too! The goal of this series was to give you the tools, inspiration and confidence to mix and match designers, fabrics and substrates to create your own unique look for a single project or an entire room. Today, we bring you TWO big bundles of fabric, allowing two lucky Sew4Home commenters to do just that: take what they've learned and enhance their own space. Our two winners, drawn at random, will both receive two yards each of thirteen different fabrics from within the collections featured in our series (yep, do the math; that's 26 yards each). It's a treasure chest of inspiration! No wait... it's TWO treasure chests!!

The Romantic Bedroom Retreat featured four collections from Westminster Fibers Lifestyle Fabrics: FreeSpirit Pagoda Lullaby by Tina Givens, FreeSpirit The Birds & The Bees by Tula Pink, Rowan Bromley by Victoria & Albert and Rowan Cameo by Amy Butler

Our wonderful friends at Rowan and FreeSpirit, sent a great cross-section of these fabrics so you can really experiment, play, mix, match and generally surround yourself with yards and yards of beauty. Each treasure chest includes 2 yards of each of the following:

I love the projects and the fabrics! I am inspired to "perk-up" a few areas in my home that seem a bit dull and tired. It is amazing how just the right fabric and a quick project can change the look of a room.

What interesting designs... the one that really caught my eye is Arbor Voile in Citron from the Bromley Collection by Victoria and Albert... the color is making me think I should be accenting a room (or two) with it.  I'll be making the structured fabric baskets from "How to Box Corners" for my daughter's room, maybe with this fabric!

Thank you for all the great tutorials on this site.  :)

The post on how to mix fabrics was super helpful--a post I'm sure I will re-read many times. I used three different fabrics in my daughter's room but all from one collection. I want to be able to use many different collections in my bedroom and living room so I can  use lots of fabric (yay!) but also bring in texture. I feel texture is so important in bringin a room to life. Thank you for that post. And for this giveaway. I really like the laminates (kitchen placemats?!). We recently moved so my apartment is still a blank slate! Thank you!

This is actually not my first time trying to comment of the fabrics but as I write what I would do, I end up going back and looking again simply because there are too many ideas.  I know I would definitely make things for my twin grand daughters' bedroom and something for their female cousintool..but what...pillows, quilts, dresses, the choices are endless. Thanks for the opportunity to dream and the chance to win!

I can see all sorts of aprons in these fabrics, since I am into making aprons these days.  The laminates would work well for tablecloths and/or placemats.  Lots of beautiful gifts!  I would probably share with my friend Melinda who loves to quilt and does beautiful work.
