THIS GREAT GIVEAWAY CLOSED 3/29/13. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO ENTERED.
Just like a whirlwind wedding day, our Rustic Wedding Series with Fabric.com has finally wound down to a satisfying close. We hope you've enjoyed seeing all the inspirational projects and learning how to mix and match traditional wedding fabrics; like taffeta, silk, tulle and organza with unique fabrics not normally thought of as wedding choices; such as burlap, ticking, crushed velvet and muslin. To celebrate the series, one lucky S4H visitor will get an amazing gift: a $200 shopping spree at Fabric.com plus a copy of Elaine Schmidt's premier ribbon-work book; The Complete Photo Guide To Ribbon Crafts.
We'll draw one winner at random from all the valid comments posted on this article (see entry details below). Our winner will receive a $200 gift certificate directly from Fabric.com. In addition, Elaine Schmidt, the guest designer of the series' Ring Bearer Pillow, has provided a copy of her amazing ribbon book: The Complete Photo Guide To Ribbon Crafts. This is the best book on working with ribbons we've ever seen. You can find our original review here.
As we've mentioned throughout the series, we had two main goals to share with you: 1) to show the romantic result of a fabric mash-up of subtle tones and varying textures, and 2) to demonstrate how large swaths of fabric can be a beautiful - and very economical - way to decorate for the wedding and reception. Many of the specialty fabrics we featured come in very wide widths, from a standard 44-45" for something like ticking, to 50" plus for taffetas and satins, to 100" plus for organzas and muslins. This means you have a huge width measurement with which to work, so often only need only a few yards to create (as we did) a dramatic drape of fabric for a back drop, table overlays, and more.

A Rustic Wedding with Fabric.com: Great Giveaway Shopping Spree & Book

I found the tutorial on fabric boutonnieres very informative. I find this to be an excellent alternative to live flowers and I am sure the guys like that idea as well
!!
I have to agree the clutches are outstanding. I always love Anna Marie fabrics and rustic is always good start!
I'm not planning a wedding anytime soon, but I love the flower girl basket. I agree that many of these projects could be used for other things - love the table runner. As far as fabric on Fabric.com - I really want to make some bags using the Dr. Seuss fabrics!
I'd love to make the ribbon ring bearer's pillow and I'd use the same neutral ribbons. I have a dear friend whose daughter is considering a rustic fall wedding. I have to show her these beautiful ideas!
rustic-wedding-fabriccom-bride-groom-chair-covers in Dupioni Silk Fabric Iridescent Teal Blue and a lovely white satin would be so beautiful -- though I recently saw similar covers made in burlap for outside use which was very pretty too.
Love the fabric, it would be fun to make table ttoppers and bow out of this fabric..
hardwood@amerytel.net
I'd want to make a ring pillow and I do like the one in the tutorial - I think I'd use either Anna Maria Horner Voile, OR liberty fabrics, depending on what my dress looked like!
I loved this series. I love this website!!! I've made a number of items from this site. Fabric.com is also a favorite of mine and the first place I go to buy fabric online. I loved the Ring Bearer's pillow. I hope a wedding will come into my future becasue I would love to make this in matching colors for the Ring Bearer. I also liked the Fabric Boutonneneers. I am the current Commander for my VFW Post and am the first female to hold that positon in that Post. For our Official Installation of Officers, I would love to make these. Thanks Sew4Home for all the great projects and for partnering with Fabric.com!!! email is skckag@cox.net
I love rustic weddings, and fall is a great time for the rustic look! I would have an olive green and pumpkin colored wedding with natural whites thrown in and make the table runners in
P Kaufmann Indoor/Outdoor Hip Floral Chocolate
and coordinating napkins in
CV-170 European Linen Fabric Spice.
A little dressier than burlap, but still bringing in the colors we love in fall.
With my wedding coming up at the end of May, these projects came at the perfect time!! I was still needing something to decorate the church with and the flower garland will be perfect for that!! I love the simply yet pretty look it offers. I like to mix up textures and weights, so I plan on using satins, organza, cotton, maybe even some paper flowers, and any other fabrics that I can find on fabric.com in my royal blue color and white. You can contact me by e-mail. Thank-you once again for another contest opportunity.
I would make a ring bearer pillow and use White Satin fabric.
I love Jennifer Paganelli fabrics so I would make the flower girl basket using Happy Land Candice in blue!
I think the Bridesmaids clutches is a wonderful idea. I would make them with "Amy Butler Organic Soul" in the "Peacock Feathers Turquoise" pattern. I love Fabric.com they have really good prices and a wonderful and huge selection of fabrics. Amy Butler is my favorite designer. I also love the fact that they have free pattern downloads and a low minimum for free shipping. I'm a quilter and love the quilting fabric selection.
I really love the flower sash. I was planning on making organza flowers for my dress for our September wedding, but now I'm thinking of doing sort of a combination o the two!! Oh, and I love the table runners! I'm so glad we decided on a DIY event!!!
I think I would make the fabric boutonnieres and bridal sash once I get the ring. Actually, I think I would make them for the bride's maids as well. Perhaps even a fabric bouquet to carry down the aisle... Love the look of the chiffon with some organza fabric not so crazy about the netting or burlap. but the pearls and accents are fantastic. Definitely a lot to think about!
being a real life barngirl I love the whole collection but definetly have to have the 2 tone Burlap Table Runner for every table! Thanks!!!
My daughter is having a really small wedding April 19th and I am helping with the decorations for the table and she likes the flower garland so that is what I am doing. I am a quilter and can always use more fabric! Hehe!

The flower girl basket, for my newphews wedding. And I like the fabric used, lovely.
The flower sash is so cute!
I really like the texture combos. Soft and elegant, yet grounded. Really beautiful and something I can totally see myself making. Great ideas!
I love the idea of the bridesmaid clutch as a gft for my bridesmaids and after much deliberation would use 'Valori Wells Wrenly Mamma Birds Cobalt' and 'Premier Prints Twill Dandelion Girly Blue' teamed with Kaufman Essex Linen Blend Light Blue with an Irridescant Teal Blue Dupioni silk rose.
I would love to make the Bridesmaid Clutches out of the 6'' Diamond Pintuck Taffetta Ivory
I cant wait for you to figure out the "complex regulations" so that Canadian entries will be accepted. Love the site and ideas.... sad to not be able to enter.
I love burlap and would love the burlap runner! No wedding in sight, but still love the runner!!
Tops on my list is the two-toned burlap runner! There is no wedding in sight but I am making it anyway, and with the same colors you chose, the late and rose, it is just beautiful! I hope mine comes out half as beautiful as yours!
Id love to use the Premier Prints ZigZag Twill Blue to make chevron purses for my bridesmaids!
my email is liztetley12@gmail.com
I love the bridesmaid clutch and would love to try making it with Splenda Satin Ribbon Rosette if I can figure out how to sew with this type of specialty fabric. It would have the Rosette on the front with a solid piece of satin on the back.
I would make the flower girl basket. That could be used for the little girl's purse after the wedding. Dots in Oatmeal Rose that they used is what I'd pick also. It would be hard to pick from all of their pretty fabrics.
I love the new Premiere Prints line at fabric.com, and I'd love almost any of them, but his one is great for a clutch, I love the way you finished the ends of the zipper on the clutch!

I would love to make the Bride and Groom chair covers. The fabric would have to be the crushed taffeta in pink and iridescent charcoal.
I would have loved the bridesmaid clutch with tattered rose in amy butler Midwest modern II Trailing Cherry. These would have been great at my beach wedding
The bride & groom chair covers are what I'd want to make for my dream wedding and I'd choose the
Dupioni Silk Fabric Iridescent Periwinkle fabric.
I would use the specialty fabics to make me a fancy wedding dress. I wish I knew all these tricks 10 years ago when I used specialy fabrics to make my youngest daughter's dress. I had no clue how to hem the embroiderered georgette so I sewed and wide ribbon to the bottom ( I saw that done in a bridal store WHEW).
contact me by email. I would love to win this. I have another wedding dress to make for my daughter's best friend. We could use the money for an awesome dress.
Wow...I want to make the two-tone burlap table runner
the bridesmaids clutch in 0281710 Genevieve Chiffon Floral Vine Wide Stripe Teal/Brown
I love the floral wedding gown sash... that's the item I showed my daughter to see if she liked it as much as I did. I'm thinking of the Charmeuse Satin in Snow White, Silver and Platinum.
My favourite project is the flower girl basket! There are SO many fabrics to choose from but my fave is: Free Spirit Designer Solid Broadcloth Fuchsia.
I would make bride and groom chair covers in Madrona Road Memoir in White, with sashing made from Wild Carrot in Straw.
I would make the Bridesmaid Clutch with Tattered Rose for members of the wedding party. I would want them to look fancy, so I would use Dupioni Silk Fabric Iridescent Teal Blue.
I love the burlap table runner. I can see using it for all holidays in my home. The style goes great in my home and would so fun to make.
I love the flower girl basket and the boutonnieres. Of course everyone loves fresh flowers, but by making the boutonnieres not only can you get a perfect match to the entire wedding ensemble, but you have a wonderful keepsake. The rustic fabrics make all the difference. It's amazing what you can do with burlap!

Hands down -the burlap table runner would be my choice - made in burlap in a pale, cool green if it were available.
I love the burlap table runners.
