S4H Summer School: WIN!

Printer-friendly versionSend by emailPDF version

THIS CONTEST ENDED 07/20/12. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO ENTERED.

We hope you've enjoyed your week in S4H Summer School. You uncovered a treasure trove of tips on Monday to LEARN. Tuesday gave you Eight Great Sizzlin' Summer projects to SEW. Wednesday was the day to SHOP in general and through our great S4H sponsors in particular. Yesterday, we encouraged you to spread the love of sewing with Eight Project Pairs to SHARE. And today... there's no final test to study for, just a Great Giveaway to enjoy!

As many of our S4H regulars know, Sew4Home is very proud to be a featured studio is the upcoming August/September/October issue of one of our all-time favorites mags: Where Women Create. As as un-planned lead-up to this big event, we were recently excited to find out we are also in the current May/June/July issue! Riley Blake Designs' regular column, The Business of the Studio features a list of their Top 25 Picks for the web's most Inspirational & Educational Blogs. Whoo-hoo... Sew4Home made the cut!

So... why am I going on and on about this in a Great Giveaway article? Well, other than the fact we're over-the-moon thrilled to be noticed by folks we so greatly admire ourselves, it all leads to the fun items we're giving away.

First, we have a beautiful, hot-off-the-press copy of this month's Where Women Create magazine, with the Top 25 List page flagged. Of course, you'll read that first, but you'll also want to check out the amazingly creative worlds of Shelly Kennedy of drooz studio; Kathy Cano-Murillo, the Crafty Chica herself; heirloom queen, Martha Pullen; and lots more!

Then, when we were getting my own bright red home studio ready for our Where Women Create photo shoot, our good friends at Moda were very kind to send us a box of beautiful pre-cuts to use to help with the decorating. So, now, we're trying to be just as nice by passing some of these lovelies along to you!

The Summer School Giveaway Includes...

One copy of the May/June/July 160-page Where Women Create fab magazine.

THIS CONTEST ENDED 07/20/12. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO ENTERED.

Simply sign up for our Sew4Home mail list. Enter your email address into the box at the top of any page on the site - under the bright red heading: Subscribe to Our Newsletter. If you already receive our emails, your work here is done.

Some of you may noticed we sent out a few daily emails a few weeks back as a test. We've had a ton of people ask for this daily reminder in their email box. However, we received a number of complaints about the increase in mail. So, we'd like to use this Giveaway opportunity to take an unscientific survey. If you have a strong opinion one way or the other, leave us a comment below. Let us know if you prefer hearing from us just once a week; if you love hearing what's up every day; or if you like the weekly alerts, but would be interested in a few special notices here and there. We know we can't make everyone happy every time, but... we like to give it the ol' college try.

We will draw one person at random from everyone signed up on our mail list as of midnight PT July 20, 2012. No purchase necessary to enter. Void where prohibited.

We will contact our random winner by email to confirm and coordinate shipping of all the goodies.

NOTE: Due to complex contest legal restrictions and customs requirements that differ from country to country, we are currently able to send prizes to a USA postal address only (cannot be a P.O. Box). Good luck to everyone!

Remember, simple sign up for the newsletter to enter. And post a comment below if you'd like to weigh in on email frequency.

Scroll to the BOTTOM of the page to find the comment window. After you post, your comment will automatically display at the TOP of the comments on the page.

I love the site...I check it everyday even without an email.  I do like getting the weekly email on Monday, though, so I know what's coming up.  Thanks!

I vote for weekly with special announcements as necessary! A weekly email on a certain day is something that's easier for me to remember.

An email everyday would work.  I tend to forget to go back to projects.  If I don't want to read it that day, just delete.

Weekly e-mails are perfect. I try to check in every day to see what's new; however, the weekends can be hecktic so seeing an e-mail on Monday morning makes the start of the week all that much bearable.

I appreciate the weekly emails.  I follow the blog through my Google Reader, so I get notified whenever there's a new (daily) blog post.  Always great projects and ideas.  Wish I had limitless time to sew.  Thank you.

I love the weekly e-mail.  In a busy schedule, it reminds me to look often at your fantastic website.  It's one of my all-time favorite sewing/quilting sites.

I like that you have something for each day but, truthfully, I only get a chance to look about once a week due to a very busy schedule.  I love the inspiration and don't want to do without.  Thanks for the opportunity to win such a great set of prizes.

I prefer the once a week email.  As others have said, the daily email tends to be ignored over time.  I check the Sew4home website frequently during the week as a source of inspiration and information.  Great giveaway.  I would be over the moon to win all those wonderful goodies!

I like weekly newsletters with additional email for special events or notices.  I find I begin to ignore daily emails from the same sender.  Thanks for the awesome giveaway.  It's awesome!  Did I say it was awesome?!  Well it is.  :-D

Please keep me informed daily...I am grandmother of lucky number 13!!!!...I am more interested in sewing than I've ever been before...I would be lost without your emails..I visit your site MORE than once a day because I don't just do the projects from that day..I take advantage of other locations, glossary, marketplace, etc....I am not a creative person, so your step-by-step tutorials are essential to my creativity!!..Can't tell you how much money I've saved by sewing instead of buying everything...

I like you previewing on Monday what to look for each day of the week, but unfortunately I forget to check daily and find myself reviewing the previous weeks' topics on Mondays.  As a retired Home Economics teacher, it's great to see you show so many techniques with such great illustrations and samples for those who wish to learn these skills.  I enjoy learning the new skills/techniques and your present them so clearly.

I checked out each of the fabrics you listed above and really like Summer Breeze.  Yellow is my favorite color and together with the blue it is so bright and refreshing.  The Ten Little Things I Spy quilt is cute, as is the Little Red Riding Hood.  I haven't had much opportunity to use the new formats, jelly rolls, layer cakes, etc as I have been trying to use up the stash that I have accumulated over the years, but would enjoy trying these new fabrics and formats.  Thanks for the opportunity to win some of these great new designs.
