Knowledge To Go: Download Our Sewing Basics Resource Guide

Printer-friendly versionSend by emailPDF version

Our official Sew4Home full-color, 28-page Sewing Basics Resource Guide is an absolute must for the beginning sewing enthusiast. But it's also a great little refresher course for us all. You can always learn something new – right?! Check out the lists of what to look for in sewing machine needles, cutting tools, thread and more. Find step-by-step instructions for several technique basics, like simple hems and buttons. Proving anyone can (and should) make their own home décor is our motto and our goal here at Sew4Home. If we've helped you catch the sewing bug - or inspired you with our projects and articles, then it's your turn to pass it on. I bet you can think of two or three friends and/or relations who would benefit from knowing how to sew. We encourage you to make it your goal to teach at least one new person to sew this fall. Our handy Sewing Basics booklet would make an amazing gift to bundle with a new machine for someone who's been dying to learn.

@ Maria garcía - I'm sorry but we don't understand your question. Were you able to download but not open? Or is it something else? We have tested the file on our end and everything is delivering correctly from the server. Do you have the latest version of Acrobat? Make sure you are checking the correct folder into which your downloads are saved.

I think you are clicking on the wrong thing. The "Select Language" bar at the very bottom of the page is on all our articles as an option for a Google Translation of the entire page. As we mention above, click on the image of the guide's cover. That will open a window to download the pdf. Also as mentioned, you do need Adobe Acrobat to successfully open the download. And finally, again as it mentions, be patient as it is quite a large file and will take awhile to download.

@ masoume - we have tested the file again and all is performing correctly on our end. As we mentioned above, it is a large file. Depending on your connection, it may take several minutes to load. With all the variables in computer systems, browsers and software, it is impossible to troubleshoot problems on your end; we can only make sure the file is delivering from our server. Due to copyright issues we've encountered, we do not email our PDF files.

I am not able to download this.  The first and part of the second page are all that comes through.

Sandra Kustermann - As we mentioned above, this is a very large file - 18 MB. The full file is there, however, there is a chance your machine may have trouble with the download size. Unfortunately, we can't troubleshoot that side of things.

I just read this e-book.  Fabulous and well written.  Thank you.  I am planning on giving one to each of my Grand-daughters.  They don't know how to sew, yet.  Thank you.  Well done.
