Hearing about new sewing machines is always exciting, but when you hear about a model that has been specifically designed with the comfort and needs of the power sewing enthusiast in mind… well that’s not just exciting; that’s spine-tingling, inspiring, electrifying news. Too dramatic you say? Take a look our Top Five Favorite Features on the new Janome Continental M7 Professional, including three “industry firsts.”

ONE: The largest sewing space available on any home use sewing machine

You get 13.5” of work space, a total work area of 17.81”, and more than 3” in the needle/needle plate section. Add the extension table (shown above) to expand your work area to 26.77” x 15.75”. We love the worktable’s built-in drawer. It puts your favorite accessories – and this model has so many accessories – at your fingertips. Every bit of this work space is useable thanks to the bright white LED lighting that creates a shadow-free sewing environment.

TWO: The most powerful penetration and needle force

The Continental M7 has a newly redesigned motor that provides the strength, reliability, and longevity you’ve come to expect from a Janome professional machine. That means the power behind the needle penetration is engineered to handle your toughest and thickest sewing challenges; like multiple layers of heavyweight canvas or three-dimensional, heavily stabilized projects like boxes and bags. As home décor enthusiasts, we’re thrilled when there’s plenty of power!

THREE: Incredible speed without sacrificing stability

Yet another Industry First: the Continental M7 is the fastest drop-in bobbin home sewing machine available – up to 1,300 stitches per minute. But as we all know, speed doesn’t mean a thing without stability. Janome is known throughout the industry for its exceptionally high standards of vibration suppression, and with M7’s full metal frame, the smoothness of this sewing experience is simply the best we’ve seen.

FOUR: Computerized one-touch needle plate

Being able to switch needle plates has been a favorite option since it was introduced several years ago. However, the level of simplicity in that change-out has varied. The Continental M7 makes it effortless. Simply press a button on the touchscreen and the needle plate automatically pops up for easy removal. Then, thanks to the newly-designed computerized needle plate system, the replacement plate quickly falls right into place. The M7 comes with three needle plates.

FIVE: Instant on-screen help with the innovative AcuSpark App

Sew4Home is all about teaching you the best tips and tricks to make your sewing as frustration free as possible. So we were super excited to see the newest Janome app debut with the Continental M7: AcuSpark. If you’re not sure how to proceed with a stitch, setting or function, simply scan the QR code on the machine’s screen and the AcuSpark app on your iOS device will provide the details that you need to proceed.

These are our Top Five Faves on this power packed new Janome machine, but we’ve really just scratched the surface. We invite you to watch the short video below to see this beauty in action, and then head to your nearest Janome America dealer to take a test drive for yourself. Be sure to ask about the AcuFeed Flex Plus, the 7” HD touchscreen (it’s centered!), the 52 stitches with a proper hand look finish, and the optical bobbin sensor that helps keep you from running out of bobbin thread at an inopportune time.

The Continental M7 is shipping now to dealers across the country. Contact your favorite dealer to check availability. The current MSRP is $7,999, which is substantially less than competitive models with fewer features (and no industry firsts), plus – Janome Dealers, as always, are putting together great deals with introductory savings and special packages.

We’re working with our creative pals at Janome America this fall to develop our own Sew4Home projects that take advantage of and showcase some of these must-have features. Stay tuned for more!

Please tell me there’s a way to stop the thread nesting every single time I use the thread cutter!

Hi Kelsey – we have never experienced that issue and so don’t have an immediate solution for; it sounds like an adjustment of some kind might be needed for your particular machine. It would probably be best to contact your dealer for advice – or you could reach out directly to Janome America at custrel@janome-america.com – Let us know what you find out.

I took delivery of my lovely

I took delivery of my lovely new machine on Tuesday this week.  I ordered it the same day my local Janome shop took delivery of their demo model.  It is beautiful, smooth, quiet and very accurate.  I’m loving becoming familiar with all its features.  I strongly recommend this beautiful machine.  (Appears we have access to the machine at the same time as our American cousins).

From Downunder in Adelaide, South Australia.
